trend-Momentum Strategy multime frame
This template is applied on the 4h
chart
Objective: To determine if the
currentmain trend is up or down trend.
What next:
If the current main trend is up trend,
we go to 15m chart to find long trades.
If the current main trend is down
trend, we go to 15m chart to find short trades.
Step 1: Determine main trend
COMPONENTS:
1. EMAs: 5 EMA
(red line) & 10
EMA (green)
2. Stochastics
3. RSI
We are in the uptrend if:
The 5EMA crosses above the 10EMA
The RSI is above the 50 line
The Stochastics is heading up
We are in the downtrend if:
The 5EMA crosses below the 10EMA
The RSI is below the 50 line
The Stochastics is heading down
Example: Uptrend (4hr chart)
Step 2: Enter trades on 15m chart
This template is applied on the 15m
chart.
Warning:
If the current main trend (4h) is up
trend, we go to 15m chart only to enter long trades.
If the current main trend is down
trend, we go to 15m chart only to
enter short trades.
COMPONENTS:
1. EMAs
2. Stochastics
3. RSI
4. MACD
Enter Long Trades when:
5 EMA crosses above the 10 EMA
Stochastics is heading up (the best is
not in overbought zone <80) RSI is above 50
(MACD is going from negative to
positive) OR (MACD is negative and starts to increase value).
Enter Short Trades when:
5 EMA crosses below the 10 EMA
Stochastics is heading down (the best
is not in oversold zone >20)
RSI is below 50
(MACD is going from positive to
negative) OR (MACD is positive and starts to decrease in value).
Stop Loss & Take Profit
STOP LOSS:
30 pips OR… the most recent swing
low (for long trade) and the
most recent swing high (for short
trade)
Set Take Profit to the same amount of
pips as Stop Loss.
Advices
Exit your trades before news releases.
Focus on a few currency pairs first,
don’t trade too many pairs.
Do paper trading first before you are
familiar with the system
Never risk over 3% of your account.
You should be cautious if you trade
when the market volume is quite.
Conclusion
Stop Loss is a bit tight.
The system is simple to follow but it
takes some works to identify and manage trades
